Biography

 

Jane Ranshaw is president of Ranshaw Consulting, Inc. Since 1976, her company has provided training and communication consulting services to Fortune 500 companies and other organizations. She conducts her own proprietary workshops on listening, business writing, developing effective manuals, internal consulting, and achieving emotional competency. Jane is a member of the Adjunct Faculty at DePaul University where she teaches courses on consulting in the School of Computer Technology. She also presents courses on writing and communications for the American Management Association.

Ms. Ranshaw completed her MBA at The University of Chicago and her BS degree in Business at Indiana University. She is certified in a variety of training and organizational approaches. Her education and business experience give her a unique perspective on the challenges facing organizations today.

She is co-editor of Training Today, the award winning magazine of the Chicago Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development. She was also a member of the board of directors of the Independent Writers of Chicago, where she served as president in 1991. She chaired the Business Issues track for the 1999, 2000, and 2001 conferences of the International Society for Performance Improvement.

Other memberships include the American Management Association, the American Society of Training and Development, the Society for Technical Communication, and the University of Chicago Women's Business Group (UCWBG). The UCWBG also named her as one of its Truly Extraordinary Women in 1999. Ms. Ranshaw is included in Who’s Who of American Women and is a frequent speaker before business, professional and civic groups.
